VEA Group Spreads Festive Cheer With Heartfelt Donation to Forest Village Leadership Academy’s Granny Grocery Drive

In the heart of Eersteriver, where challenges run deep but community spirit runs deeper, a remarkable moment unfolded. One that warmed classrooms, corridors, and countless households beyond the school gates.

Last week, VEA Group proudly handed over Grandma Hampers to Forest Village Leadership Academy, supporting the school’s annual Granny Grocery Drive, a beloved initiative aimed at bringing dignity and joy to elderly caregivers in the community.

For Forest Village Leadership Academy, a no-fee school devoted to uplifting every learner in its care, compassion is more than a value; it is a practice. Each year, the school’s prefects lead community-focused projects that instil responsibility, gratitude, and service. This year, they set their sights on a cause particularly close to their hearts: granny-headed households.

These are homes held together by the unwavering strength of grandmothers; women who step in as guardians, role models, and pillars of love when circumstances require it most. Many of them shoulder the weight of caregiving with limited resources, yet immeasurable resilience.

And so, the Granny Grocery Drive was born.  A mission to ensure that these matriarchs feel valued, celebrated, and supported, especially during the festive season.

A Hamper Filled With Hope

VEA Group’s Grandma Hampers, thoughtfully selected with essential groceries, represent more than just nourishment. They are a message:

“We see you. We honour you. You matter.”

During the handover, school leaders and prefects stood proudly as the hampers arrived, their smiles reflecting the true spirit of ubuntu. The partnership between VEA Group and Forest Village Leadership Academy showcased what becomes possible when corporate responsibility meets grassroots compassion.

Building Communities, One Act of Kindness at a Time

At VEA Group, community development is not an event; it is a commitment. Supporting this initiative aligns with the company’s belief in empowering the most vulnerable, strengthening educational ecosystems, and uplifting families who often slip through the cracks.

A Season of Giving, A Legacy of Caring

As the festive season ushers in a time of reflection and gratitude, VEA Group is honoured to play a small yet meaningful role in helping Forest Village Leadership Academy bring joy to the homes of grandmothers who give so much and ask for so little. May these hampers bring comfort. May they bring smiles.  And may they remind every granny that she is cherished, today and always.
